Heerema Fabrication Group CEO Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven said: "We are delighted that we have been able to secure this contract.

"With the Valemon jacket, the Gina Krog jacket and the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 Unmanned Wellhead Platform, which we will deliver next month, we have a good track record with Statoil."

The Statoil-operated Peregrino field has two wellhead platforms and a floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO), which are connected with a system of pipelines, risers and cables.

"The platform will have an eight-legged jacket and a wellhead platform with a drilling unit tied-back to the existing FPSO."

As part of the Peregrino Phase II field development, a third wellhead platform will be constructed in the area, which is not accessible by the two platforms.
