Amec Foster Wheeler has formed a strategic alliance related to the centre feed technology of DeltaValve, which is a provider of equipment and control systems for the delayed coking segment of the refining industry.
The centre feed technology will be included into all new SYDEC delayed coking units, licensed globally by Amec Foster Wheeler.

Amec Foster Wheeler can also include the centre feed technology into delayed coking unit revamps. Both the companies intend to take advantage of their respective strengths to drive opportunities throughout the industry.
The two firms have earlier worked together on a number of projects with positive results.
Amec Foster Wheeler global technology business development vice-president Steve Beeston said: "DeltaValve’s innovative centre feed device addresses the issues of uneven thermal distribution and severe thermal transients by simply returning feed streams to the center of the coke drum, resulting in more consistent operation and longer coke drum life.
