Neste Jacobs has signed an agreement to deliver full scale operator training simulator for crude oil distillation unit and gasoline sulphur removal unit of Neste’s Porvoo refinery in Kilpilahti, Finland.
The new simulator is planned to be commissioned in spring 2016 and would be maintained and kept up-to-date with the real plant by using Neste Jacobs’ customer support simulator environment.

Earlier Neste Jacobs delivered simulator aided learning environments for the production line of Porvoo refinery.
Neste production of oil products vice-president Jukka Kanerva said: "Napcon Simulator – Operator Training Simulator technology offers possibilities to improve the operating personnel’s competence with a wide range of training exercises.
"Practicing together with the entire shift in a real-life-like learning facility is highly motivating and very efficient.

By GlobalDataThe Porvoo refinery has four production lines in addition to over 40 process units.
It also underwent expansion in response to a perceived shortage of diesel for the consumer and commercial markets in north-western Europe.
As part of the expansion, a new production line (PL4), a residual oil unit and a hydrogen production unit were constructed.
PL4 has been producing diesel and the other two units have been producing renewable diesel since February 2007.
In September 2015, Neste Jacobs was selected to provide engineering, procurement, construction management services Neste’s Naantali refinery reconfiguration project in Finland.
