Petrofac crude oil trunkline

UK based oil and gas service provider Petrofac has won a $780m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for developing a manifold group trunkline (MGT) system.

To be set up in the northern parts of the country, the trunkline is an important part of KOC’s growth strategy for crude production over the following five years.

Petrofac is expected to complete construction of the line within 2017.

"Kuwait is, and will continue to be, one of our core markets and is of strategic importance to Petrofac’s ambitions in the Middle East."

Once operational, the system will deliver feed stock to three gathering centres (GCs) which are being developed by KOC.

Each of the GCs will receive crude oil via three independent networks of intermediate manifolds and pipelines and will have a daily production capacity for nearly 100,000 barrels of oil along with associated water and gas.

Petrofac has been awarded the EPC contract for GC29, which is one among the new centres built for crude oil project.
