
MOL subsidiary Kalegran has commenced early production from the Bijell field on the Akri Bijeel block in Kurdistan.
Production following the testing and tie-in of the Bijell-1B well to the extended well test (EWT) facility and early production through the well is said to be around 3,500 barrels a day at present.

The well also gave positive test results from the Jurassic structure and after reaching and testing its Triassic targets it is planned to be tied in to the EWT by the end of August.
MOL noted that drilling of the well is ongoing, while spudding of the Bijell-6 well is expected to take place in March. Both are planned to be tied into the EWT by the end of the year.
Kalegran and its partners are conducting appraisal work on the Bijell Field and EWT facility at present, which is already in operation and can handle up to 10,000 barrels a day (b/d) gross nameplate capacity production on the Bijell-1 site. Bijell-1B well flowed at an average oil rate of 3,576 b/d and a gas rate of 1.2 million cubic feet a day on a 40/64in choke.
Early production has started from the Bijell Field, which is expected to last 180 days.
