Oil and natural gas explorer and producer Circle Oil has completed the construction of a new gas pipeline and associated infrastructure in Morocco.

The 8in Sebou (DRJ)-Kenitra pipeline was built to deliver gas from the company’s Rharb Basin permits to the local industry. The new pipeline is undergoing pressure testing prior to commissioning, which will take place at the end of this month.

The gas pipeline has a design capacity of 23.5 million standard cubic feet per day and its total length is 55km.

Circle Oil has connected the pipeline to seven of the ten potential producing wells, with tie-in for the remaining wells to be completed during the first quarter of this year. The company said that the wells were discovered during the two previous drilling campaigns in 2008-09 and 2010-11.

Circle Oil holds a 75% stake in the new pipeline while its partner the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mining holds the remaining 25%.

Circle Oil CEO Chris Green said that once commissioning is complete, the company and its partner will significantly increase gas supplies and associated revenues to local industry throughout 2012.
