The gas pipeline between Egypt and Israel that was shut down for six weeks has resumed the commercial supply of gas following two days of testing.

The gas supplies were halted in April after the pipeline was attacked in the Sinai Peninsula.

The gas supply will be increased gradually and the pipeline will deliver contracted amounts to Israel this week.

The attack marked the second such attack on the Egyptian pipeline infrastructure resulting in the halting of gas supply to Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, reports CNN.
