Eternal Energy has spudded its first horizontal Bakken development well in the Hardy field, which is located in south-east Saskatchewan, Canada.
The new well, which is located near the Hardy 7-9 producing well, has a projected total depth of 3,515m with a lateral section in the Bakken Formation of 1,370m.

The firm has planned a multi-stage fracture stimulation for completion of this new well.
American Eagle Energy and Passport Energy are working interest partners in the well.
According to agreements made earlier, Eternal Energy and American Eagle Energy will each maintain a 37.5% working interest in the new well, and pay only 30.75% of its drilling, completing and equipping costs.
Eternal Energy president and CEO Brad Colby said the well is the company’s first offset well in the Hardy field, and is an important component of its plan to increase revenues through the development of its significant Bakken well locations in the Williston and Southern Alberta Basins.
