The base oil facility will use Chevron’s Isodewaxing technology, which will provide higher yields and enable a broader range of crude oil to be used in the manufacturing process, according to the company.
Premium base oil produced in Pascagoula will serve markets in North America, Latin America and Europe.
Chevron Downstream & Chemicals executive vice-president Mike Wirth said the addition of the Pascagoula facility will make Chevron the world’s largest producer of premium base oil.
