The latest deal is a follow-up to the technological cooperation agreement signed by Gazprom Neft and Schlumberger in 2011.

The agreement was aimed at increasing the efficiency of hydrocarbon exploration and production at Gazprom Neft’s deposits in Russia, as well as globally.

A coordination committee comprising representatives from both companies was created after the signing of the agreement.

Established in 2007, Gazpromneft-Nefteservice currently manages Gazpromneft-NNGGF, Noyabrskenergoneft and Noyabrskteploneft.

Gazprom Neft comprises more than 70 production, refining and sales subsidiaries throughout Russia, the CIS, and abroad. It also has hydrocarbon proved and probable reserves of 2.84 billion tons of oil equivalent according to SPE-PRMS standards.

Last month, Schlumberger and Rockwell Automation entered an agreement to create a new joint venture, Sensia, the first fully integrated digital oilfield automation solutions provider.
