The Inuvik facility is owned by the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC), where natural gas is the major fuel support for the NWT community.
NTPC generates NWT’s electricity from hydro, fossil fuel, and other renewable sources.
Cryopeak noted that the LNG delivery aligns with the NTPC’s efforts to make low-carbon electricity resources available across the Northwest Territories.
Cryopeak senior vice-president Aleksandar (Saša) Cook said: “We are incredibly proud of this achievement. It is the culmination of years of planning to deliver LNG in our Super B-Train to a community located 200km north of the Arctic Circle and approximately 100km from the Arctic Ocean.
