DOF Group indicated that the contract is valued between $50m (Nkr493.98m) and $100m.

The Unity FSO unit has been part of the Amenam/Kpono field located nearly 30km off the eastern part of the Niger Delta. The offshore Nigerian field began production in 2003.

For the FSO Unity Replacement Project, DOF Group will be responsible for the engineering, transport and installation of new mooring systems, as well as associated subsea construction work.

The project will utilise four vessels, which are expected to accumulate around 330 vessel days during offshore operations.

The Unity FSO unit is registered under Nigeria’s flag, and has an overall length of 298m and a width of 62m.

Offshore work is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2027 (Q4 2027) and Q1 2028.

Project management and engineering operations will begin immediately, with teams based at DOF’s offices in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Bergen, Norway.

DOF Group CEO Mons Aase said: “We are pleased that our Atlantic region has been awarded this important contract by TotalEnergies.

“The contract reflects DOF’s strong track record in delivering complex mooring and subsea construction projects safely and efficiently, supported by our integrated service offering and experienced teams.

“It represents a significant addition to DOF’s backlog and further strengthens our long-standing relationship with TotalEnergies.”

DOF Group noted that the project will make use of its fleet and personnel from across its operations.

Earlier this year, DOF Group was awarded a contract by MODEC Guyana to deliver mooring pre-lay services for the Hammerhead floating production, storage and offloading project in Guyana.
