Oil and gas engineering services provider Plexus Holdings, in partnership with four major oil and gas companies, has signed a contract to develop and commercialise a new and safer subsea wellhead, HGSS.
Partners included in the project are Maersk Oil North Sea UK, Shell International Exploration and Production, Wintershall Noordzee, and oil and gas technology solution consultancy SafeKick.

The firms were signed up as consulting partners to Plexus’s Joint Industry Project and will develop the wellhead using Plexus’s patented POS-GRIP technology.
The development programme will take up to 24 months to complete and the total project cost is estimated at £1.5m-£2m.
