Denmark-based Maersk Drilling has entered a drilling rig charter contract with Lundin Norway for its rig Maersk Guardian, which will be deployed in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
The $43m contract is for two wells to be drilled for 135 days.

The rig was recently refurbished at the Port of Hirtshals in Denmark, and has been equipped with a new 18¾ BOP, a skidable texas deck and a new drillers cabin.
The contract will begin in the second half of 2012.
Maersk Guardian is one of two sister rigs of the Hitachi Zosen design in Maersk Drilling’s fleet.
