Gazprom’s Russia-based subsidiary Gazprom Neft has shipped its first cargo with Arctic oil to China through the Northern Sea Route (NSR).
The oil company arm of Gazprom said it sent 144,000t of light Novy Port oil grade to the Chinese port of Yantai on the Bohai Sea from Murmansk, Russia.

Before the delivery of Novy Port oil, which is extracted on the Yamal peninsula in Russia’s Arctic region, Gazprom Neft has been already using the NSR for European exports.

Gazprom Neft is the third biggest oil company in Russia in terms of output.
