Offshore Technology Excellence Rankings 2022 – The Verdict

Eni is an Italian headquartered oil and gas corporation that is ranked for Business Expansion in the 2022 Offshore Technology Excellence Rankings.

During the research period the company made a number of notable oil and gas discoveries including in the Meleiha and South West Meleiha concessions, in the Western Desert of Egypt. According to preliminary estimates, the new discoveries hold about 50 million barrels of oil. The company also announced a new light oil discovery in the Cuica exploration prospect in Block 15/06 in Angola; the oil has been discovered following the drilling of the Cuica-1 NFW well on the Cuica exploration prospect.

Elsewhere Eni and its partners also made a discovery at the Eban – 1X well in Cape Three Points Block 4 (CTP-Block 4) in Ghana; Located on the Eban exploration prospect and approximately 50km off the coast, the Eban – 1X is the second well drilled in the block following the Akoma discovery. The company announced a further discovery on the Sayulita Exploration Prospect in Block 10 in Mexico, following the drilling of an exploratory well.

Finally Eni also partnered with an Indonesian upstream regulator to collaborate on exploration activities in the country. It also agreed to deliver carbon neutral LNG cargo to Taiwanese state-owned energy company CPC.

Further discoveries were made in the Baleine prospect located in block CI-101 offshore Ivory Coast; identifying light oil (40° API) at the discovery well Baleine-1x, in two different stratigraphic levels during drilling. Eni also signed a new oil exploration and production contract with the Algerian state-owned oil and gas company regarding the onshore Berkine basin area in the country.
