The largest producers of natural gas in Indonesia are PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Medco Daya Abadi Lestari and BP. PT Pertamina (Persero) was the largest producer of natural gas in 2023 with output up by 8% on 2022.
PT Medco Daya Abadi Lestari was the second-largest producer, with output up by 0.57%, and BP was third with an increase of 4% on the previous year.
There are 58 natural gas producing fields in Indonesia of which 20 are located offshore and the rest onshore. The East Java has the majority of the natural gas fields in the country with 11.
