The largest producers of natural gas in Tanzania are Orca Energy Group, Etablissements Maurel & Prom and Wentworth Resources. Orca Energy Group was the largest producer of natural gas in 2022 with output up by 28% on 2021.
Etablissements Maurel & Prom was the second-largest producer, with output up by 10%, and Wentworth Resources was third with an increase of 10% on the previous year.
There are two natural gas producing fields in Tanzania of which one are located offshore and the rest onshore. The Mtwara has the majority of the natural gas fields in the country with one.
