The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 1.25% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 15.45% share in the company’s total hiring activity in January 2022, and recorded a 2.11% growth over the last three-month average share.

 

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BP IT hiring in January 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BP, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 78.26% in January 2022, and a 140% rise over December 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 10.87% in January 2022, and registered growth of 150%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.7% in January 2022, a 33.33% rise from December 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BP

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in January 2022 with a 69.57% share, which marked a 146.15% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 26.09%, registering a 300% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 4.35% share and a 50% drop over December 2022.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 63.04% share in January 2022, a 222.22% growth over December 2022. The UK featured next with a 23.91% share, up 450% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 4.35% share, an increase of 100% compared with December 2022.

Mid Level jobs lead BP IT hiring activity in January 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 58.7%, up by 575% from December 2022. Junior Level positions with a 41.3% share, a growth of 18.75% compared with the previous month.
