Block 3 & 4 Conventional Oil Field, Oman

Block 3 & 4 is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Oman and is operated by CC Energy Development SAL. The field is located in block Block 3 (Afar) and Block 4 (Ghunaim).

The field is owned by Tethys Oil, Consolidated Contractors and Mitsui.


Production from Block 3 & 4

The Block 3 & 4 conventional oil field recovered 38.83% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2019. The peak production was approximately 42.75 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 9 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2066. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 192.19 Mmboe, comprised of 190.12 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 12.42 bcf of natural gas reserves. Block 3 & 4 conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.04% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
