Contracts in the downstream oil and gas segment registered an increase of 45% with a total of 71 contracts in August 2021, when compared with 49 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

The activity marked an increase of 9%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 65 contracts.

Downstream oil and gas contracts in August 2021

By comparing contracts related to the downstream segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 40 contracts and a 56% share in August 2021, followed by Europe and North America with 13 (18%) and 11 (15%) contracts, respectively.

 

Contracts by scope of work in downstream segment in August 2021

During the month, the majority of contracts in the downstream segment were awarded in the procurement with 33 contracts, followed by design & engineering and operations & maintenance with 29 and 23 contracts, respectively.
