Funan is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Thailand and is operated by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production. The field is located in block B13, with water depth of 217 feet.

Production from Funan

The Funan conventional gas field recovered 79.73% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2002. The peak production was approximately 6.97 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 170 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2041. The field currently accounts for approximately 3% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 61.95 Mmboe, comprised of 5.84 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 336.67 bcf of natural gas reserves. Funan conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
