Grane Heavy Oil Field, Norway

Grane is a producing heavy oil field located in shallow water in Norway and is operated by Equinor Energy. The field is located in block 25/11P (PL 001) and 25/11P (PL 169 B1), with water depth of 423 feet.

The field is owned by ConocoPhillips, HitecVision, Eni, Petoro and Equinor.

Production from Grane

The Grane heavy oil field recovered 79.35% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2006. The peak production was approximately 217.22 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2043. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 208.17 Mmboe, comprised of 208.17 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Grane heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.48% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
