Magallanes (Magallanes) is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Argentina and is operated by Enap Sipetrol Argentina. The field is located in block Magallanes and Poseidon, with water depth of 285 feet.

The field is owned by Empresa Nacional del Petroleo and YPF.


Production from Magallanes (Magallanes)

The Magallanes (Magallanes) conventional gas field recovered 76.89% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2019. The peak production was approximately 5.77 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 142 Mmcfd of natural gas and 0.69 thousand bpd of natural gas liquids. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2032. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 51.25 Mmboe, comprised of 9.25 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 243.55 bcf of natural gas reserves and 1.42 Mmbbl of natural gas liquid reserves. Magallanes (Magallanes) conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
