Power Nap Conventional Oil Field, US

Power Nap is a conventional oil development located in deepwater in the US and is operated by Shell Offshore. Discovered in 2014, Power Nap lies in block Mississippi Canyon 943, with water depth of around 4,213 feet.

The project is currently in construction stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2022. Final investment decision (FID) of the project was approved in 2019. The Power Nap conventional oil development will involve the drilling of approximately three wells and includes subsea tree.

The field is owned by Royal Dutch Shell.


Production from Power Nap

Production from the Power Nap conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2022 and is forecast to peak in 2023, to approximately 31,523 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 21 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2076.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 199.73 Mmboe, comprised of 176.86 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 137.2 bcf of natural gas reserves.
