Tsimiroro is a heavy oil development located onshore Madagascar and is operated by Madagascar Oil. Discovered in 1909, Tsimiroro lies in block Block 3104 (Tsimiroro).

The project is currently in approval stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2025. The Tsimiroro heavy oil development will involve the drilling of approximately 800 wells.

Production from Tsimiroro

Production from the Tsimiroro heavy oil development project is expected to begin in 2025 and is forecast to peak in 2038, to approximately 44,702 bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2056.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 259.7 Mmboe, comprised of 259.7 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate.
