A total of 19 contracts were registered in the upstream segment of Africa during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 18 contracts.


In terms of the number of contracts in Africa, the upstream segment contributed the most with 19 contracts in November 2022, followed by midstream and petrochemicals segments with four and two contracts, respectively.

In November 2022, Angola led the activity with three contracts and a 16% share of the upstream oil and gas contracts in Africa. It saw an increase of 300% over the previous month’s no contracts and an increase of 50% when compared with the last 12 month-average of two contracts in Angola, followed by Congo Republic and Egypt with two contracts 11% share each.

Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the upstream segment of Africa, Angola and Nigeria took the top spot with two contracts each, followed by Cote d’Ivoire with one contract.
