Canadian oilfield construction and services firm Fort McKay Group of Companies (FMGOC) has acquired a majority ownership in Birch Mountain Enterprises.
Fort McKay noted that the new expanded partnership enables the company to serve as a Tier One supplier in oilfield construction and services.

Fort McKay Group CEO Sami Saad said: “This is an important step in the growth of the Fort McKay Group of Companies.
“With our new agreement with Birch Mountain Enterprises, we will offer expanded services in the oil and gas industry, become more competitive and offer increased benefits to our clients and the community.”
Beginning next month, the company will continue to operate as Birch Mountain Enterprises Limited Partnership.

With operations since 1986, FMGOC currently employs around 1,450 people. The company has offices in Edmonton and the Fort McKay Industrial Park.
The company is fully owned by the Fort McKay First Nation Band and currently has long-term contracts in earthworks, logistics, site services, fuel and lube delivery, environmental services and land leasing operations.
Fort McKay Strategic Services, Fort McKay Logistics and Steep Bank Earth are the company’s three limited partnerships.
Based in Canada, Birch Mountain specialises in fluid handling services. The company has more than 250 units and operates one of the largest privately owned fleet in the Fort McMurray region.
