ConocoPhillips has so far launched 20 enterprise-grade applications since it started using Mendix 18 months ago.

The oil and gas major has now gained enough experience to develop applications five times faster.

Mendix founder and CEO Derek Roos said: “ConocoPhillips is modelling what the future of software development looks like.

“Empowering developers and business users with the right low-code and no-code tools, with the appropriate governance, is the key to creating solutions that deliver real business value and brings velocity and relevance to digital transformation initiatives.”

In May this year, ConocoPhillips sold its subsidiaries that hold its Australia-West assets and operations to Santos for $1.265bn.

In March, ConocoPhillips sold two oil assets in the Permian Basin and the southern Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin to undisclosed buyers.
