The platform operations, including safety, automation, wells and oil and gas production, are monitored from the control room.

As part of the project, Cyviz provided design, delivery and installation of the necessary equipment required to improve operations on the platform.

Cyviz’s energy efficient solution provides a modern and improved collaboration space to control room operators and includes six whisper-quiet projectors that project a seamless, high-quality visual image onto a screen.

This allows operators to get an overview of the platform’s operations. The solution also produces less heat than its predecessor.

"The main challenge of the Neptune Energy implementation was to complete the upgrade of the ‘heart and brain’ of the control room without disrupting operations, which we achieved."

Additionally, heating, ventilation and air conditioning can be managed well within the offshore control room.

Cyviz marketing director Marie Pettersson said: “The main challenge of the Neptune Energy implementation was to complete the upgrade of the ‘heart and brain’ of the control room without disrupting operations, which we achieved.

“Our collaboration and visualisation solutions enable our customers to work together seamlessly and efficiently. These benefits are essential in a dynamic operation scenario, such as an oil and gas platform.”

Cyviz’s solution, which comes with servicing and maintenance options such as remote support and equipment monitoring, is expected to serve the platform beyond the next ten years.

It also does not require replacement parts for up to five years, and the components are built and selected to enable a stable operation.
