Intermoor, the moorings and anchors business line of Acteon, has secured a three-year contract from Petrobras for subsea interconnection, mooring and anchoring materials in Brazil.
The contract involves providing inspection, preservation, maintenance and operational readiness services for these assets.

This is the third such contract Petrobras has granted to Intermoor in the past year.
The scope of the contract includes a range of services for critical mooring system components such as adapters, anchors, anode collars, chains, connectors, load collars, related load handling accessories and steel wire ropes.
According to Intermoor, these services will support Petrobras’ offshore activities across its extensive subsea infrastructure portfolio.
The contract calls for a range of inspection and maintenance activities.
These include visual and dimensional checks including non-destructive testing using magnetic particle and liquid penetrant methods. They also include surface cleaning, treatment and painting, as well as the repair, replacement and reconditioning of anchoring components.
Handling, transportation, storage and preservation of materials also form part of the contract.
As part of the project requirements, Intermoor will allocate 20,000m² of storage space at its Açu Port yard in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to temporarily house Petrobras materials undergoing maintenance. This area is intended to facilitate proper identification, organisation and tracking of equipment throughout the maintenance process.

Acteon stated that this contract expands its involvement in the delivery of mooring life cycle services in Brazil, including inspection, maintenance and reconditioning of components.
The company highlighted that ongoing investment in the Açu Port facility supports operators’ requirements for asset integrity and operational planning.
In June this year, Intermoor carried out a multi-phase offshore decommissioning campaign for the Petrojarl I floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit off the coast of Brazil.
The operation involved addressing a range of technical difficulties linked to the unit’s age and the challenging offshore environment, while maintaining the FPSO’s position and heading throughout the riser and mooring line disconnection process.
