KBR has secured two contracts from Pointe LNG and ExxonMobil to deliver services for their oil and gas projects in the US.
Under the contract with Pointe LNG, KBR will provide engineering and technical services for the proposed LNG liquefaction and export facility in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.

The scope of the work includes front-end engineering design (FEED) submittals and services in order to obtain Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approval for the project.
Pointe LNG co-founder Tom Burgess said: “Selecting KBR to provide the full engineering design on FERC FEED, Full FEED and a lump sum EPC turnkey bid package assures that Pointe LNG will complete the FERC filing process on time and ensures the quality design needed.”
Pointe LNG expects to complete the FERC pre-filing process by this December.
Subject to financing and all necessary permits and approvals, the construction of the export facility is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2021. The company aims to kick-start initial operations in the first quarter of 2025.

By GlobalDataAccording to the contract with ExxonMobil, KBR will support the expansion of the Beaumont crude refinery in Texas.
The company is required to provide detailed engineering, procurement, and construction services for the offsites and interconnecting units.

“This project showcases KBR’s long history of executing projects on the US Gulf Coast and our ability to deliver projects in operating facilities safely and efficiently.”
ExxonMobil has recently approved plans to expand refining capacity at its 366,000bbl/d Beaumont integrated refining complex by more than 65%.
The expansion plans include the addition of a new crude unit with a refining capacity of 250,000bbl/d.
