Barakah Offshore Petroleum subsidiary PBJV Group has secured a contract from Petronas to work on its Floating LNG1 (FLNG) in offshore Malaysia.
In 2015, Petronas said it expects the FLNG unit to export its first cargo during the first quarter this year.

Under the contract, PBJV will provide engineering, procurement, installation and related activities for FLNG offshore works.
Other works include PFLNG post-installation activities and on-board hook-up, commissioning and start-up activities.
Barakah said that the contract is Package 3 of PLNG’s development of a floating liquified natural gas plant, which would be located offshore Sarawak/Sabah.
Also known as PFLNG Satu, the vessel is located 180km offshore in Malaysia’s Kanowit gas field.

Once completed, the vessel will have a rated capacity of 1.2t per year.
Petronas plans to deploy FLNG1 facility at the Kanowit field, which is located 200km offshore Bintulu, Sarawak, East Malaysia, at a water depth of about 80m.
The vessel is expected play a vital role and will help the company unlock gas reserves in Malaysia’s remote fields.
