UOP Russell senior business leader Craig Ranta said: "This shop-fabricated and pre-engineered plant is customised to process the unique feed gas composition in north-western Oklahoma.

"The combination of pre-engineering and customisation means that we can deliver this technology for site-specific applications using modular platforms that can be built and enter service very quickly, and operate with high reliability."

Cryogenic units extract natural gas liquids (NGLs) from natural gas streams by refrigeration to extremely low temperatures.

These NGLs, comprising ethane, propane and butanes, are primarily used for heating or to manufacture plastics, chemicals and fuels.

"This shop-fabricated and pre-engineered plant is customised to process the unique feed gas composition in north-western Oklahoma."

When the Redcliff Midstream facility becomes operational next year, it will serve producers in the natural gas fields in the Sooner Trend, Anadarko Basin and Canadian and Kingfisher counties.

The plant’s key aspects include its single-stage high-pressure compressor and customisations to the brazed aluminium heat exchangers, which reduce capital and operating expense.

Honeywell noted that UOP Russell's pre-engineered modular equipment can be designed according to customer specifications.

It also added that the modules fit together easily, thereby reducing construction time and expense, and improving reliability after start-up.

UOP, a division of Honeywell International, supplies and licences process technology, catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, and consulting services to the petroleum refining and gas processing industries.
