
Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) has secured a $460m contract by NefteGazIndustriya through project developer China National Chemical Engineering in the Afipsky Oil Refinery Expansion Project at Krasnodar, Russia.

Under the deal, CB&I will be responsible for detailed engineering, procurement services, construction management and commissioning services of several process units.
A 2.5 million tonne per annum hydrocracker unit will also be developed as part of the project.
The hydrocracker unit has been licensed by Chevron Lummus Global, a joint venture between CB&I and Chevron.

CB&I previously announced the awards for the technology licence and FEED contract for several process units, including detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication and supply of a steam methane reformer for a large-scale hydrogen plant, hydrocracking heaters and Breech-Lock exchangers.
