Chevron Energy Technology and GE Oil & Gas have announced the formation of a new alliance to develop and commercialise technologies to solve various critical issues for the oil and gas industry.
The new Chevron GE Technology alliance will build on existing collaborations on flow analysis technology for oil and gas wells. The companies jointly developed the GE Safire flow meter, which Chevron will test and deploy on its land-based well production lines in the western US.

By GlobalDataUnder the alliance, GE flow meter products will be developed by incorporating swept frequency acoustic interferometry (SFAI) metering technology, that is incubated in an alliance between Chevron and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
GE Oil & Gas president and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said that the alliance combines Chevron’s understanding of the oil and gas industry with GE’s tradition of technology development and collaboration with strategic partners.
"The solutions developed by this alliance will take on even more industry significance given Chevron’s proven leadership in being first to field test and deploy new technology breakthroughs, "Simonelli added.
