Blackbird Energy intends to acquire 13 gross sections of Montney lands located in the Elmworth / Pipestone area, Alberta, Canada, for approximately C$3.35m ($2.55m), which will be funded by issuing five million shares.

The assets to be purchased are held by independent energy company Paramount Resources.

The transaction is expected to be completed by mid-March and will increase Blackbird Energy’s total holdings in the Montney lands within the Elmworth / Pipestone area to 115 gross sections.

Both companies involved in the deal are based in Canada.

An undisclosed exploration and production company has purchased acreage and production located in STACK play in Woodward County, Oklahoma, US, from IOG STACK Opportunities, an affiliate of upstream energy investment firm IOG Capital and Red Mountain Energy.

Based in Canada, Crew Energy is an oil and gas exploration and production company.

UK-based upstream gas company Sound Energy will acquire additional interests in oil and gas assets located onshore Eastern Morocco, from Oil & Gas Investment Fund (OGIF) under an agreement signed with the latter.

The purchase consideration for the transaction is £254.32m ($315.54m).
