Canacol Energy has announced plans to acquire 50% interest in the SSJN7 exploration and production contract (SSJN7 block) from Pacific Exploration & Production Corporation through its subsidiary CNE Oil and Gas.

Located in Magdalena Valley Basin, Colombia, the SSJN7 block covers an area of 669,000 acres.

Both Canacol Energy and Pacific Exploration & Production are oil and gas companies based in Canada. The acquisition adds to Canacol Energy’s gas assets base in Colombia.

Chevron U.S.A. and Union Oil Company of California, both subsidiaries of Chevron Corporation, have announced plans to sell their oil and gas assets in the SOHOT Play located in Oklahoma, US.

The oil and gas companies will sell both operated and non-operated working interests in the assets that include 161 wells and 37 plugged and abandoned wells.

The Velma Waterflood properties cover 7,237 acres and include 587 wells, as well as 172 plugged and abandoned wells.

Canadian oilfield service company STEP Energy Services has announced plans to raise C$100m ($76.34m) through an initial public offering of ten million shares priced at C$10 ($7.63) per share.
