DeepOcean UK, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group, has completed substantial works on the Liwan 3-1 natural gas field in China.
Liwan 3-1 is part of the Liwan gas project, located in the South China Sea, about 300km south-east of the Hong Kong special administrative region.

The project, which also features the Liuhua 34-2 and Liuhua 29-1 fields, delivered initial production about seven years after its discovery.
All three fields feature a subsea production system, subsea pipeline transportation and onshore gas processing infrastructure.
DeepOcean started work on the project for COOEC Subsea in March 2012.
Volantis and UT-1 undertook trenching and survey operations on more than 160km of the 30in Liwan pipeline.

By GlobalDataThe pipeline links the Liwan Central Platform in a 200m water-depth to the shore of China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s Gaolan gas plant.
Trenching activities were completed in August 2013 in the shallow-water section of the project.
Saipem undertook subsea field development activities in the deep-water section of the Liwan 3-1 field operating ROVs in a water depth of more than 1,400m.
DeepOcean worked with clients to undertake several infield tasks in order to deliver safe subsea operations.
