Deepwater technology centre managing director Alex Imperial said the centre will focus on three core sectors, the first of which includes subsea, umbilicals, risers, flow lines and pipelines.

The second sector will focus on floating systems, including production and drilling, while the third sector will involve work within the fields of drilling and wells, said Imperial.

DNV COO Remi Eriksen said the company would benefit from DNV’s 40 years ofoffshore and deepwater experience and its well-established deepwater centres in Houston, Oslo and Rio de Janeiro.

"The establishment of the new centre has become a reality due to a very constructive cooperation with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB)," said Eriksen.
