Drydocks World is set to build two new jack-up drilling rigs for Malta Oil & Gas as part of an agreement.
According to Drydocks, the company will build the rigs based on Gusto MSC CJ54-X135-A design.

Drydocks World and Maritime World chairman Khamis Juma Buamim said: "There is a great demand for new offshore drilling rigs in the rapidly evolving upstream oil and gas sector.
"Our strategy to contribute to the growth of this sector has paid rich dividends."
With dimensions of 76m x 76m and leg length of 180.6m, the units are intended for operation in water depths of up to 450ft.
The units comprise a triangular shaped hull with three open truss legs, rack and pinion type elevating systems, and leg-to-hull fixation systems.

By GlobalDataWith a capability to drill high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells, the rigs are equipped with permanent accommodation for 150 people, a heli-deck suitable for the use of an S61N or S92 helicopter and a retractable X-Y type cantilever carrying the drilling derrick.
Drydocks World, which is undertaking a strategic development in its rig business from repair, refurbishment and rehabilitation to new building, ensures that the operational excellence cycle is adhered to at all levels of production.
Drydocks World is said to use processes that are based on industry best practices laying out the requirements and procedures for meeting health, safety and environmental objectives.
