Formed in October 2008, Australia Pacific LNG is a joint venture between Origin (37.5%), ConocoPhillips (37.5%) and Sinopec (25%) and produces natural gas in eastern Australia.

APLNG includes the development of the company’s coal seam gas resources in the Surat and Bowen Basins, a transmission pipeline that stretches 530km, and a multi-train LNG facility on Curtis Island.

It is one of three LNG plants on the east coast of Australia to become operational over the past year.

Once both of its two production trains are operational completely, APLNG will have a design capacity of nine million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG.
