Lamprell has delivered the last of nine jackup drilling rigs to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC). 

Lamprell received the contract for the Al Lulu rig in April 2015. The offshore drilling unit was constructed at Lamprell's facility in Hamriyah, UAE.

Designed according to the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class specifcations, all nine rigs of the series are equipped with the latest drilling system technology.

NDC CEO Abdalla Saeed Al Suwaidi said: “NDC continuously upgrades its capabilities to deliver top tier, diversified, and sustainable drilling services, at competitive cost to our clients across the ADNOC group of companies. 

"The series of nine rigs were all built at Lamprell’s facilities in the UAE."

“These rigs are equipped with innovative technology including joy stick operated cyber chairs with integrated equipment consoles for the rig operators and are designed to suit the specific needs of Abu Dhabi.” 

Al Lulu represents the 21st 116E jackup drilling unit delivered by Lamprell since 2006, and the 28th unit type in total.
