Messoyakhaneftegaz is a joint venture of Gazprom Neft and Rosneft and achieved this milestone in less than five months since the commencement of oil production in the field, which is currently operated by Gazprom Neft.
Efficient geological and technical activities, as well as advanced methods were implemented for stimulating tight reserves production to achieve the milestone.
New wells were drilled at the East Messoyakha field using fishbone technology. Fishbone is a technology used to drill horizontal wells with multiple branches, enabling the improvement of well flow-rate by 30%-40% compared to a conventional method.
Approximately 94 wells are operating in the East Messoyakha field, from which the average daily production is reported to be nearly 7,300t.

By GlobalDataThis year, the field is scheduled to increase the drilling scope.
Accordingly, 11 additional drilling rigs will be brought to the field, while 19 rigs will operate in the East Messoyakha field.
It is estimated that the new wells will produce nearly 50% of the total output of Messoyakhaneftegaz for this year.
The East Messoyakha field is located in the Tazov district of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
Situated around 340km north of Novy Urengoy, the field is estimated to host recoverable reserves of around 340 million tonnes of oil.
