Norwegian subsea contractor Ocean Installer has been awarded a regional framework agreement with BP to carry out subsea work in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) region.
Ocean Installer US president Mike Newbury said: "We have successfully executed work for BP in the GoM during the last couple of years, and we are happy to see the relationship manifest itself in such an agreement.

"Now our focus is to win call-off work within this framework."
Under the three-year agreement, Ocean Installer will provide services that include subsea fabrication, transportation and installation of offshore facilities.
Other services include hook up and commissioning.
Ocean Installer said that specific work scopes would be performed under individual call-off contracts and no firm work is committed under the agreement at present.

By GlobalDataCovering BP’s operations in the GoM region, the agreement is managed from Ocean Installer’s office in Houston.
The basin of the Gulf is roughly oval and is around 1,500km wide and floored by sedimentary rocks and recent sediments.
With offices in Aberdeen, Houston, Mexico City, Perth, Dubai and Rio de Janerio, Ocean Installer has experience in the Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers, Flowlines (SURF) segment.
The company is majority owned by HitecVision, an investor in the oil and gas industry.
