The Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has discovered hydrocarbons within three wells located in the Sindh province, Pakistan.

In a filing with the Karachi stock exchange, the firm stated that two exploration wells are situated in Ghotki, while the other is in the Khairpur district.

The three exploratory wells are Gundanwari-1, Mithri-1 and Khamiso well-1.

OGDCL holds a 70% stake at the Khamiso-01 well in Ghotki, while SEPL holds 13.5%, IPRTOC 11.5% and GHPL 5%.

"The three wells will lead to an increase of 30 million square cubic feet a day (mmscfd) of gas for total production in Pakistan."

The wells were drilled down to a depth of 753m and 2.95 million cubic feet a day (mmcfd) of gas was found through a 32in / 64in choke at wellhead flowing pressure of 505 pounds per square inch (psi).

OGDCL has a 95% stake in the Gundanwari-01 well while Government Holdings holds the remaining interest.

The well was drilled to a depth of 3,750m, and 19.40mmcfd of gas along with 15 barrels per day of condensate were found through a 32.64in choke at wellhead flowing pressure of 3,300psi.

The Mithri-01 exploration well also had the same structure as the Gundanwari-1 well, reported Rigzone.com.
