Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded a $1bn engineering and procurement (EP) contract to Petrofac for its Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) located in the Harweel Cluster of fields in south Oman.
Petrofac will also provide construction and commissioning management support services over the course of the four and a half year contract and offer full support to PDO during the construction and start-up phases of the integrated oil and sour gas facility.

The services will be provided on a reimbursable basis and procurement on an incentivised pass-through basis.
The RHIP facility has sour gas processing facilities and associated gathering and injection systems and export pipelines.
According to Petrofac, the facility will handle oil and gas production from the Harweel oil reservoirs through miscible gas injection and the production of gas with condensate from the Rabab reservoir.
In addition to around 16 million cubic metres a day of high pressure sour injection, the facility will deliver peak export of 4.9 million cubic metres a day of sweet gas and 9,700m³/d of condensate.

The also company plans to increase its local goods and services and maintain a focus on its delivery by accessing the local supply chain and recruiting local resources.
