Previously in September, RGU received funding from the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office to be utilised to develop a framework of training for the energy sector of India.
The MoU will help the member companies of Petrofed to develop technical and managerial skills in the hydrocarbon sector.
PetroFed director general Dr Malhotra said: “India has ambitions to increase its share of hydrocarbon production domestically and reducing its energy import by 10% by 2022 and becoming energy self-sufficient, as stated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister.
“With a view to providing a sustainable workforce and delivering the planned growth in hydrocarbon exploration and production, we have joined hands with RGU to assess the need for oil and gas sector related skills.”
