
Technip has secured a contract worth $400m from Kuwait Oil (KOC) for consultancy services for project management and engineering.
Technip will build new oil and gas infrastructure and upgrade existing facilities in Kuwait. The company will provide its services for the next five years, with an option for an additional period of one year.

The services provided by Technip will include project management, feasibility studies, front-end design, project controls, planning, engineering, procurement, construction management and training of its project staff.
Most of the services will be carried out by teams based in KOC’s headquarters in Ahmadi, Kuwait, although Technip’s Milton Keynes operating centre in the UK will execute the feasibility studies and front-end engineering and design.
Technip Middle East senior vice president Vaseem Khan said: "The Group will be able to reinforce its operations in the region through the addition of another important services center in Kuwait developed specifically for the occasion, further strengthening our current engineering capabilities in the region through operating centers in the UAE and Qatar."

By GlobalDataTechnip PMC senior vice president Riccardo Moizo said that the KOC contract will establish the company as one of the top-tier project management consultancy companies worldwide.
"It has been fueled notably by skills and assets gained from the acquisition of Stone & Webster process technologies in 2012," Moizo added.
