The UK Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) has issued nine new petroleum exploration and development licences (PEDLs) to Egdon Resources as part of the 14th Onshore Oil and Gas Licensing Round.

The new licences cover 18 UK National Grid blocks and part blocks with a total area of approximately 1,141km².

Originally offered in two tranches last year, the PEDLs are located in the East Midlands Petroleum Province and the Cleveland Basin.

Egdon said they will expand the company’s acreage, as well as opportunity base within these two core areas and offer a mix of new conventional and unconventional resource opportunities.

Licences PEDL273, PEDL305 and PEDL316 are located in East Midlands, Gainsborough Trough and licences PEDL334, PEDL339 are in East Midlands, Humber Basin.

PEDL306 is offered in East Midlands, Widmerpool Basin, while PEDL259, PEDL343 and PEDL258 are in Cleveland Basin.
